Springbrook Prairie Pavilion in suburban Chicago’s Naperville is the first development in DuPage County to pursue Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification. The 270,000 square foot retail center began construction in June 2007.

The center’s first occupant, Road Runner Sports, opened its first Illinois store Friday. The sports store offers shoes, apparel and gear for every level of runner.

A green retailer will also be calling Springbrook home. Whole Foods Market— the world's leading natural and organic foods supermarket and the nation's first certified organic grocer—will be one of the center’s anchors, with plans to open a 50,000 square foot store on July 16. The store will be the 16th Whole Foods store in the Chicagoland area.

Other occupants will include Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, Nordstrom Rack, Chase Bank, Cost Plus World Market, Loehmann’s, Bank of America, Home Goods, Relax-the-Back and Charles Ifergan salon.

In addition to retail, Springbrook Prairie will have a central plaza that can be used for events. The center will be pedestrian-friendly, with bike and walking paths connecting it to the DuPage County Forest Preserve.
